Bookstore with arcade, off-street parking Mon - Thurs 9 a.m.-1am, Fri-Sat 9 a.m.-2am, Sun noon-midnite. 6 large booths that can easily hold 2 people. Hot Springs are along the river just below parking area. Watch for the turn-out with the Emergency Call Box (Approx 1-2 miles) and park.
Approx 14 miles into the Canyon, the road (178) will turn into a freeway again. If arriving from Los Angeles, take I-5 freeway north to Highway 99 North and exit in Bakersfield at Highway 178 East (To Lake Isabella) Follow 178 East through Bakersfield towards the mountains and into the Kern River Canyon.
